Stump Grinding

Stump grinding uses a cutting wheel to reduce the visible stump and accessible root flare into a mixture of wood chips and soil. It is usually less disruptive than excavating the entire root ball, but the right depth depends on whether the area will become lawn, a planting bed, hardscape, or part of a construction project.

Before scheduling, we review stump width, height, surrounding grade, gates, slopes, nearby structures, and the route from the street. Public utilities and private systems such as irrigation, invisible fencing, septic components, landscape lighting, and drain lines must be identified before grinding.
